Kirtan heartsong
A warm welcome to the yoga of voice and music...
Sarah (Savitri) offers informal kirtan heartsong gatherings for you to experience the yoga of voice and music in a relaxed atmosphere. We chant traditional meditative mantras for healing and wellbeing and sing bhajans to strengthen the voice, open the heart and lift the spirits. A chance to listen and if you wish add your voice to the mix. Accompanied by soothing hum of the harmonium, baritone ukulele and visiting friends with other instruments as available.

Lock down kirtan Thursday 30 April 2020
A kirtan was planned to take place at Wivenhoe Bookshop Shed on this day. As I was unable to offer the session live online I recorded two short videos. They are raw, unplugged, uncut and the sound and visual quality is what it is!
Please keep in mind that these videos are not really offered as a performance for entertainment! As a mantra and kirtan practitioner and facilitator I very much enjoy gathering together with others to co-create sound, we sing as one voice to harmonise mind, body and soul, sending this vibration out to our own lives, families, friends and the wider world. Fairly untrained and self taught I consider myself to be a group sound facilitator rather than a solo singer or musician and this is a participatory event!
I hope you will sing along with me, experiment with your own voice, harmonise if you like, play other instruments, clap, dance, whatever works for you.
Private bookings
I am available to share kirtan heartsong at your yoga studio, retreat, festival, hen do, team building day, conference or other event.
I offer lighthearted accessible kirtan suitable for all regardless of experience. I have sung with adults, children, teenagers and OAPs – there’s something for everyone from meditative chants to jolly bouncy songs.
